So you have read through the CV, liked what you read and you have arranged the interview, but what do you look for when they walk through the door?
The CV is a means of a candidate selling themselves to you to gain an initial interview, but this is only the start as it cannot convey the applicants personality.
The questions you ask at interview are very important, but the next interview you run, try to look further, look at their body language...
- Did they walk in confidently?
- Offer a firm handshake?
- Keep their posture correct?
- Did they hold steady eye contact?
- Plant both feet on the ground?
Observing body language can assist you in making the correct decisions
As we realise that this is a vital part of the recruitment process, all our initial interviews are recorded to DVD, this then gives you the benefit of observing the candidates body language without even seeing them!
