Our client, a successful “up-scale” Hotel on the outskirts of Bath is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie to join their team.

As the Demi Chef de Partie you will be supporting the head chef in delivering a varied food offering in the restaurant as well as private dining functions, afternoon tea and breakfast.

In this role, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of their busy kitchen and will collaborate with the head chef to prepare menus, ensure adequate supplies at the cooking stations, and prep common ingredients for the team. It’s a great opportunity to work within a small, experienced and friendly kitchen team. You will be passionate about bringing the best out of artisanal seasonal produce, have a keen eye for quality and consistency and a friendly can-do personality

You’ll have previous experience in a similar role, as well as being outgoing, personable, enthusiastic and confident in your ability to be able to help this busy operation and maintain excellent service standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Executive Head Chef to prepare meals
  • Ordering, prepping, and keeping a good stock of the common ingredients for all cooking stations, including vegetables, spices, etc.
  • Following the guidance of the head or sous chef in the preparation and presentation of the meals.
  • Abiding by and enforce health codes and cleanliness standards in the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Training and supervising junior chefs; including best practices, safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Checking for plating accuracy (garnish, portion size, correct serving dish, etc.)
  • Anticipating and communicating shortages to the sous chef or head chef
  • Providing a consistently high level of food, working closely with the Executive Head Chef to ensure the highest level of food quality to match service standards.
